Our Dive Sites

Every day of the year, we go out twice a day to visit some of the best dive sites that Lanzarote has to offer. Rubicon Diving is located in the heart of Playa Blanca and our two dive boats give us access to many of the dive sites that lie in the channel between Lanzarote and Fuerteventura.  These sites typically lie at depths of 16 to 20 metres which is perfect for Open Water divers. Most sites feature Lanzarote’s volcanic lava reefs, many with swim-throughs small caverns and ledges that can be explored and are home to the local marine life.

Some of the excellent dive sites within a ten minute boat ride of the dive centre include; Flamingo wall, Twin Pipes, Las Lenguas, Coloradas and the Wrecks and caves. Angel sharks, sting, butterfly and electric rays are common, as are barracuda, grouper, octopus and moray eels. Deeper dive sites can also be explored at Pechugera and Cuesta del Faro which have fascinating lava landscapes and some larger marine life.

As well as diving in the area around Playa Blanca we also regularly visit the dive sites at Puerto Del Carmen and Mala. At Puerto Del Carmen, you can dive the cathedral and blue hole, both of which are well known dive sites at around 30 metres on the island. We also visit the wrecks located near Puerto Del Carmen Harbour and just outside of Puerto Calero. Mala, located in the north of the island, offers some excellent diving particularly around the caves to the south of Mala Bay.
