Rebreather diving

technisches TauchenREBREATHER PHILOSOPHY

Introduction

As an experienced diver you may be wondering why the fish are so difficult to approach and that your underwater photos always seem to be of the caudal fin as your subject hurriedly swims away from you. The reason for this is the BUBBLES!
With each exhaled breath a diver using conventional scuba releases a stream of noisy bubbles which startle marine life and interfere with their natural behaviours.

So how do we get around this problem? With a Rebreather.

What is a Rebreather and Rebreather diving?

A rebreather can be either semi-closed or closed circuit, whereas conventional scuba is open circuit, hence the reduction or elimination of bubbles. The air you exhale passes through a filter with “scrubber” material, which absorbs the Carbon Dioxide, and then passes back into your tank. This gives you a much longer bottom time as you are less restricted by using up a 12l cylinder and also keeps you warmer as the air you breathe with the rebreather is warm and moisturised.
